The artist book group is currently working on background textures for a cover design.

Their latest focus has been to create more weathered textures in their work, to use as stamps and backgrounds. Creating textures is not about following a process or variety of mesh, stencils, and laces, working within boundaries, but rather seeking out new styles and techniques in a spontaneous manner. The goal is to create a piece of art that can stand alone by creating as much depth as possible in the background before collage working on the foreground.

The group will be using techniques such as:

- Paint brushes
- Stamping with random items in the studio (such as marker caps, buttons, ink pads, painted lace, and rims of jars)
- Transferring paint with paper
- Using an old credit card (used to help gel medium transfer images and adding dimension with mesh)
