The Queensland Bookbinders’ Guild was formed to foster, encourage and practice the craft of bookbinding and associated graphic and paper arts. Through meetings, courses, exhibitions and publications we teach and promote traditional and modern bookbinding skills so that members can produce classic and modern bindings of individual style and design.

We provide opportunities for training, materials and equipment so that members can (in no particular order);
1. Bind magazines, family histories etc
2. Rebind their favourite books
3. Rebind paperbacks in a better form
4. Make attractive notebooks
5. Restore and repair old and damaged books
6. Learn techniques useful in book arts
7. Make fine bindings.
8. Make useful boxes

The Guild holds monthly meetings and occasional specific subject courses (such as Leather binding Box making etc). Members can take advantage of purchasing materials that are hard to find elsewhere and of borrowing from a range of books in our library.
New students, experienced professionals and anyone with an interest in beautiful books and book arts are welcome to join and learn new skills to enhance their creation of unique decorative books and bindings.

Visitors are welcome at all meetings.

Check out the Events & Courses page for the dates of our next meetings and future courses.
