In this course you will dismantle your paperback, re-glue (a technique called lumbecking) the spine, apply scrim and a spine lining, and then make a square back case into which you will case-in your re-glued text. This course is suitable for beginners but completion of the Introduction to Bookbinding course would be an advantage.

All materials and notes will be supplied. You may bring your own distressed paperback to work on or we can supply something suitable. One with pages coming out and/or the cover detaching, would be suitable.

You will need to bring your basic tools (craft knife, bonefolder, metal ruler and set-square). Other equipment and materials are supplied as part of the course cost.

Please bring your lunch and an apron.
