About this event

In this course you will expand on the skills learned in the Beginner Course to make a rounded and backed, case bound book.
This is a traditional hard-cover book. Tutor is Darryn Schneider; helpers are Ken McKeon and Piper Hithersay.

Course will cover:
After folding and sewing the text block you will round and back it to create a book that is longer wearing.
You will learn to tip on endpapers and apply pre-made headbands to the text.
After the text block is prepared you will create the cover and "case in" to finish your new book.

All materials will be provided by the Guild.
Students are to bring their own bookbinding kit. See below for the tools you will require (all should be available from the beginner course).

Tools Required: All the bookmaking tools you have used in the beginner course including:
Craft knife with snap off blades
Awl
Steel Ruler
Scissors
Bookbinding Needle

Also bring your lunch and snacks, and an apron.
