The artist book group is currently working on background textures for a cover design.<br /><br />Their latest focus has been to create more weathered textures in their work, to use as stamps and backgrounds. Creating textures is not about following a process or variety of mesh, stencils, and laces, working within boundaries, but rather seeking out new styles and techniques in a spontaneous manner. The goal is to create a piece of art that can stand alone by creating as much depth as possible in the background before collage working on the foreground.<br /><br />The group will be using techniques such as:<br /><br />- Paint brushes<br />- Stamping with random items in the studio (such as marker caps, buttons, ink pads, painted lace, and rims of jars)<br />- Transferring paint with paper<br />- Using an old credit card (used to help gel medium transfer images and adding dimension with mesh)
