COURSES:
We have also got two courses coming up the following weekend:

Saturday 18th September, A Lumbeck Single Sheet Binding in a Square Back Case. Course times 9.00am to approx 3.30pm, cost $90 which includes materials and a copy of the text “”The Red Herring Book of Food Facts” for the binding. The tutor Darryn Schneider will demonstrate the double-fan technique for binding single sheets (think family histories) and will use a 3 piece construction similar to a Bradel Binding for a square-backed case. There may also be time for some simple decoration.

Sunday 19th September 2021. 9.00am to approx 3.30pm. Solander Box making course, tutor Sandy Johnson, cost $70 to members but free to those who attended a Beginners Course in 2021. The Solander Box is a made-to-measure clamshell (solid) box to hold a precious book.

If members could please email us on bindery@qbg.org.au if you are planning to attend.

There will be two Committee members on each day to assist you in the use of equipment if required and to help you with any particular aspect of a project you may want some direction on.

If you have something you need help with, let us know when you email us re your attendance and we will endeavour to have someone there who can help you.

Please remember that you will not be able to purchase materials, board or other equipment on these days. You will have to use the Open Days and General Meeting for this purpose.  You will need to BYO whatever materials you will need.

This is a wonderful new initiative; we have never before had the opportunity for you to work at projects and use equipment in this way. Please support it. We have invested a lot in setting up our room for use by you, and providing training so you can have some assistance.

We also hope that these days will provide members with the time to come together in a social, more informal setting than the meeting days, to swap ideas and support each other.
