Meetings are usually held on the second Wednesday of  most months at 7:00pm BVAC Hub : Wellers Hill Arts Hub. Located at 140 Weller Rd, Tarragindi.
The room is available from 6.00pm for members to buy supplies, and to use the library. Anyone considering membership is welcome to attend a meeting. For more details please contact the Guild. More information will be provided to members in reminder notices as each meeting night approaches. (Details are provisional and subject to change)

For those of you who attend our monthly meetings, or Open days you are always required to sign the attendance book. This is to meet the terms of our insurance.

The Guild Shop will be open for purchases so that you can stock up.
The Guild Library will be open for borrowing and returning those items you have finished with.



Open Day 2021

Open Day: Our first Open Day of the year will be on March 14th (Sunday, 9-12 at BVAC) for shopping, working and asking questions.

This month we have four different activities for people with different bookbinding interests.
Our Artist books group is on Tuesday 9th March at BVAC from 1.00 until 3.00pm (sorry, I gave the wrong times for last month’s meeting). This is a very active and vibrant group with a very varied programme for the year. If you are interested in attending I suggest that you contact the group’s coordinator Sandy Johnson so that we are prepared for everyone who comes. All Guild members are welcome to join the group. Our next regular meeting is the Open Day, on Sunday 14th March (9.00am – 12.00 noon) at the usual BVAC premises. Please come to buy materials, borrow books, talk to other members and to see our new and well equipped bindery. This is also the last date for submitting entries to the 2021 Competition, which is being judged by Fred and Gundi Pohlmann and will be announced at the April 14th AGM. Please see the notice below about electronic payment from Andrew Lee who is in charge of the shop and sales. Every entry must include an Entry Form which you will find on the website (https://qbg.org.au/presidentqbg-org-au/) or attached.
We have two one-day courses running this month. On Saturday 27th March we are running a Solander Box course (this is intended for those who completed this week’s Introduction to Bookbinding course, but there might be last minute vacancies). Then on Sunday 28th March we are running another of the very popular Book Repair courses, run by Robin Tait, an esteemed professional paper conservator based near Toowoomba. It will focus on paper repairs, tears and re-attaching loose pages, and some removal of adhesive tape. Both of these courses are listed on our website (https://qbg.org.au/courses-and-workshops/) and application can be made via the website. You may wish to contact our Courses convenor, Marilyn George, on courses@qbg.org.au to confirm availability and any prerequisites and requirements.
